What is a Toybox Tale Technically?

STUFF YOU'LL NEED
So you want to do your own Toybox Tale?  AWESOME!  Here are some things you will need.  More detailed tech support links at the bottom page.
RE: The Toybox Tales Stage

A computer desk is the main stage, with camera on the keyboard section.  I have my camera on a short tripod on a small rotating plastic base designed for putting under a TV. I had to drill holes in the rotating base to hold the tripod, otherwise the camera would tip forward.

To duplicate the blue curtains I have would be a little expensive, as I took two Wee-Folk table top stages from Puppet Productions and cut off the flaps that make it a case and attached them to the computer desk.  Camera goes on a mini tri-pod on keyboard section facing upper desk where story is told with toys.  The background are two Wee-Folk stages.

You can view Wee-Folk products at http://store.yahoo.com/puppetproductions/weefolks.html.   I did not buy the stages for Toybox Tales purpose, but after four years in the resource room not being used, using them weekly justified ruining their intended purpose.  I obviously inverted the stages so that the blue part was IN rather than out.

RE: Action Figures

The action figures are the result of years of collecting.  No advice can be given as to where to buy figures, except for the Jesus Action Figure which is available in the Kidology.org Store.

RE: Lighting

You will need good lighting.  I have a spot light that is directly overhead that points down on the stage.  At camp one summer, I couldn't use the spot light, so I clamped desk lights to the sides of the stage, and that worked great.  Now I use both a spot and desk lamps to reduce shadows from the figures and my hands.
