Here it is by popular demand! Since I knew I would be out of town this year on Christmas Sunday, I wanted to produce a very special Toybox tale for my kids in my absence. So my KC Krew and I made a special Toybox tale that was then edited and scored by our youth pastor, Pastor Jim Crouter. Over three hours of filming went into this ten minute tale that covers the whole story of Christmas in a rather unique manner! It concludes with Mr. T. leading the whole cast in “Away in a Manger.” Enjoy!
Everyone is at the super major big party, but no one seems to know whose party it is! Feels like Christmas when people are so busy for the holiday season but forget that it is Jesus’ birthday.
A bully has been scaring Betty and her friends for a long time. A new girl in school wasn’t afraid of Brutus the bully and made the girls realize that they grew taller than the bully as years passed by and shouldn’t be afraid of him. When we surrender our fears to God, He helps us and our problems don’t seem so bad.
A variety of popular characters walk past a a mysterious button with a sign that says simply, “Do NOT TOUCH the button.” One by one they push the button and learn the hard way that it is always better to obey. Finally, Larry Boy comes along and with a visit from Moses (holding the Ten Commandments) the kids learn that commands are for our own good!
The Swedish Chef cooks a hamster, a substitute as quail wasn’t available, the bird that God provided to the Israelites when they were in the wilderness. No animals were hurt in the making of this tale.
This is the TOYBOX TALE that started it all! Several years ago this was the FIRST Toybox tale I ever did (at camp), and the response to it that lasted over a year is what prompted the idea to use this technique for story telling regularly.
